Nobody likes on calls anyway. Humans are not designed to stress overnight like that, and then "replenish" with extra hours of sleep the following days! We need to sleep regularly and preferably on a fixed time.<br /><br />Let those docs who are superhumans to continue do the calls and serve the people out there. We have our own agendas and life to take charge.<br /><br />Remember "don't follow the crowd"!<br /><br />We choose our path and go ahead with it. I believe they do exist in other hospital as well.<BR/><BR/>I pay a visit to the lab and phamacy during my first posting as a houseman (Just to say hi after blood samples being rejected twice--a norm for a fresh new HO?). The technicians were very friendly (probably not many people have visited them before?). Guess what I've got?<BR/><BR/>From the lab:<BR/>-list of what bottles to use as well as the order that I'm supposed to fill in first (e.g. plain bottle first, always), and the amount of blood needed.<BR/>-list of investigations to do, for example what does a thrombophilia screen consist of.<BR/><BR/>From the pharmacy:<BR/>-a small booklet listing the available drugs and doses<BR/>-an antibiotic guide<BR/>-a list of when I should take the drug level as well as the indications.<BR/><BR/>Hey, Liam, I thought I have given you a copy of those?
