I was with my brother at the PJ Digital Mall last weekend, and it's been quite a while I last visited such IT mall. I saw there were many UMPCs on display, and when placed next to the conventional laptops, they appeared so slim and tiny! So attracted to the UMPCs there and then - almost like love at first sight! ;)
I only knew of Asus eeePC before this, and now there are a few more options available in the market, namely the HP MiniNote 2133, Acer AspireOne, and Kojinsha etc. After testing out the few of them, I must say that the eeePC was not the best as I thought, mainly because the keyboard is rather cramped - for me, the keyboard is one of the most important features when choosing a laptop. I tried out the keyboard of HP MiniNote and Acer AspireOne, and they have much bigger keys and easier to type. HP's keyboard is almost full sized but the only problem is that it is rather heavy. Acer did a rather good job in this new UMPC, and I am quite attracted to it.
Running Linux lite version, the AspireOne is quite impressive in terms of boot up speed and normal usage to surf net or preparing some powerpoint presentations.
So I am thinking of getting one for my wife as her birthday present this year! ;)
